On February 19, the China Cultural Center in The Hague once again visited EY Netherlands, the Dutch branch of the internationally renowned audit and consulting firm Ernst & Young, to host a distinctive “Chinese Cultural Salon” at its headquarters, celebrating the Lunar New Year together with EY employees. Following last year’s inaugural collaboration, the two sides joined hands once again to mark the Chinese New Year.

Unlike last year’s event, which focused primarily on cultural presentation, this year’s salon placed special emphasis on the Chinese community working within Dutch enterprises. The initiative aimed to foster a stronger sense of belonging among Chinese employees in cross-cultural workplaces, while enhancing cultural pride and identity.
The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Staff members from the China Cultural Center in The Hague shared insights into Spring Festival traditions, zodiac culture, and the contemporary relevance of traditional Chinese values. Their presentations resonated strongly with the Chinese employees present. Participants gathered in discussion, reflecting on their professional experiences abroad and their personal cultural perspectives, and together experienced the warmth of their cultural heritage during the festive season far from home.
As a global leader in assurance, tax, and advisory services, EY has long advocated a corporate culture of diversity and inclusion. Many participants noted that the cultural salon not only brought a sense of festive ceremony into their busy work schedules, but also rekindled heartfelt connections to Chinese culture and strengthened their cultural confidence.
This “Chinese Cultural Salon” formed part of the China Cultural Center’s “Happy Chinese New Year” series of events. The Center will continue exploring new approaches to enhance the influence of the “Happy Chinese New Year” brand, engage more international partners in promoting Chinese culture, and build bridges of cultural exchange across borders.
