On the 28th, the China Cultural Center in The Hague, in collaboration with the Poetic Ink, hosted a unique event combining traditional Chinese calligraphy with tea culture. The event welcomed local healthcare workers to experience and learn about the art of Chinese calligraphy.
Calligraphy instructor Lin Yong introduced the participants to the five major script styles of Chinese calligraphy—Seal, Clerical, Regular, Running, and Cursive—explaining their historical background and distinctive features. He also demonstrated essential techniques, such as ink grinding and brush handling. Under his guidance, participants had the chance to create their own calligraphy works.
During the tea gathering, guests were treated to renowned Chinese teas including West Lake Longjing, Ancient Tree White Tea from Yunnan, and Da Hong Pao from Fujian. This not only complemented the artistic atmosphere but also allowed guests to immerse themselves in the subtleties of Chinese tea culture.
