2026 Zodiac Theme Exhibition: The Animal That Changed the World — The Horse!

The "Chinese Zodiac" is a unique way for the Chinese nation to mark the year of one's birth. China has twelve zodiac animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Each zodiac corresponds to a year, rotating every twelve years. Additionally, the twelve zodiac signs correspond to the twelve months of the year and the twelve two-hour periods of a day. As an important part of traditional Chinese culture, the formation of the twelve zodiac reflects early human animal worship and embodies the harmonious relationship between the Chinese people and animals. Furthermore, many people regard the zodiac as an auspicious symbol for the Spring Festival, making it an icon of traditional New Year customs.

The Horse, a creature of both speed and strength in nature, originated from the ancient wilderness. After thousands of years of natural selection, it remains spirited and vibrant. With wisdom and patience, humans understood its nature and tamed its spirit, transforming this wild being into an assistant in agriculture, a steed for riding and driving, and a beast of burden. Ultimately, it became a loyal friend and companion to human civilization.

On the back of the horse rides a vast epic of humanity. It traversed towering mountains and deserts, forging trade routes and cultural corridors that connected the world. It galloped across battlefields, carrying the aspirations of heroes and the fate of nations. It is an auspicious symbol in festivals and ceremonies, and an endless source of inspiration for human artistic creation.

From ancient times to the present, the galloping and fearless steed has embodied humanity's indomitable heroism and uplifting spirit, securing its indispensable and unique position among the twelve Chinese zodiac signs.

As the Year of the Bingwu Horse arrives, we invite you to mount the steed and embark on an endless journey of civilization across time and space. We wish you all great fortune in the Year of the Horse; may the sound of hooves welcome the new year, and may your grand plans launch a new journey!
