The Second Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo was successfully concluded in the cities of Wuxi and Huai'an, Jiangsu Province. China Cultural Center in The Hague has livestreamed the opening events via Facebook and ZOOM, enabling audiences overseas to experience the ever-rich culture of the Grand Canal in the digital age.
China Cultural Center in The Hague took this opportunity to explore the concept of "Canal Culture", aiming at exploring a common cultural symbol, to connect the Dutch canal culture, which inherits from the "Golden Age", in a bid to foster mutual understanding. Today, the cities along the canals in both China and the Netherlands not only continue the prosperity and affluence of the past but have also precipitated profound canal culture and historical memories. At the core of the “canal culture” sit the concepts of friendly exchanges, openness and common prosperity. China Cultural Center in The Hague will continue to take Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo as a platform to seek cultural resonance and facilitate mutual understanding between the two countries.
