The Grand Canal is the largest man-made waterway floating in the eastern plains of China since the 5th century BC. The Jiangsu part of the Grand Canal boasts the most cultural heritages and the most stunning sceneries. There is a tremendous amount of gardens, old houses, temples and other ancient architecture along the canal. The Grand Canal was listed as an UNESCO cultural heritage site in 2014. This exhibition will bring the Dutch audience a journey through the splendid Grand Canal and experience a different canal culture.
