Adorning Eternity – The Art of Filigree Inlay Jewelry” Opens in The Hague!

On June 13, the exhibition “Adorning Eternity – The Art of Filigree Inlay Jewelry” was grandly opened at the China Cultural Center in The Hague. The event is co-hosted by the China International Culture Association, the China Cultural Center in The Hague, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

As a nationally recognized form of intangible cultural heritage, the exquisite craftsmanship of filigree inlay is renowned around the world. This exhibition brings together nearly 200 works by over 80 designers, demonstrating both the inheritance of traditional techniques and the innovation of contemporary design. It reflects the vibrant vitality of this ancient craft in the modern era.

                            

Filigree inlay is not only a treasure of Chinese civilization but also a witness to intercultural exchange. These artworks offer international audiences a glimpse into the unique charm of Chinese aesthetics, turning traditional craftsmanship into a cultural bridge connecting the world.

                           

Dutch artist Karin van Paassen shared her deep affection for Chinese culture. She noted that the precision and artistry of filigree inlay resonate with the meticulous spirit of Dutch traditional arts, and that such cross-cultural dialogue inspires infinite creative possibilities.

                            

                            

A highlight of the event was the live heritage workshop, which drew enthusiastic participation. Attendees expressed how the hands-on experience allowed them to appreciate the sophistication of Chinese craftsmanship and deeply feel the spirit of dedication and artistry behind it. This interactive encounter offered Dutch audiences a more intuitive and meaningful understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
